COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) - Atkins Library Resources

Atkins Library Help

We are here to assist you with your teaching, learning, and research needs:

Requesting Materials

We will digitize materials from our own collection and deliver them electronically through our interlibrary loan system. We also have options for getting access to books in our collection. You can initiate this process by using the Request option in the catalog. Watch this video on how to request materials.

Librarian Role in Canvas

Research and Instructional Services (RIS) librarians can be added to Canvas courses. Please contact your subject librarian if you are interested in adding them to your course. Here is a tutorial that shows you how you can do this yourself. In Canvas they can help you with assignments, provide appropriate tutorials, or participate in discussions. They can also “meet’ with students to provide research assistance or answer questions about library resources.

There is a link to Library Resources in the default menu options in every Canvas course. To enable this option, if it has been disabled, go to Settings, and drag Library Resources up to the active items in the menu.

Teaching Online Resources

The AISLE staff will be available to assist faculty looking for support with recording instruction. Faculty who need help recording videos can submit a request for help via: https://help.uncc.edu/.

Anyone with an education affiliation who needs a library card will receive a virtual card in their email within minutes of the application. Students, teachers, and staff in need of access to the Library’s online resources and digital downloads during the COVID-19 closures should attempt the online library application first. If there are any problems with the application, they can email onlinereference@cmlibrary.org and include the name of your school or institution. These cards will expire on 8/31/2020.

Wi-Fi signal will be extended at each branch to reach the perimeter of the facility.
