Logging in to your Google account

  • Open TiltBrush, and in the headset, click to log in to your Google account.
  • On the computer, log in to your Google account on the Microsoft Edge browser (the default for the Vive)
  • Go back to the headset. You are now logged in.
  • Always remember to log out when you are finished.

Saving & Exporting Your Work

  • Once you are finished (or as you need to save), choose the cloud icon (Upload) on the palette. Once your sketch is uploaded, go to the computer and name it. Here, you have the option to publish it. Note that once you publish your work, it is public. If you used an object that someone else created, it will also show up on the original object’s page as a remix of that item, in order to give credit to the original artist. You should also credit that original artist in the description of your object.
  • To refocus the sketch for a thumbnail-type image, view your sketch in the preview box and choose the arrows in the top right corner. Move and zoom until you are satisfied.
  • To share, click on the preview box to open the viewer. Underneath, select the share symbol and copy the link for the specific platform you will use.
  • Log out when you are finished.

Importing Objects

First, find an object you would like to use. Go to poly.google.com and log in with your Google account. Search Poly’s repository of objects. Once you find your desired object, simply “like” it by clicking the heart. Note that you will only be able to use others' objects if they are remixable (marked "Public/Remixable CC-BY"). Otherwise, it will not import into your TiltBrush workspace.

If you have created your own file you’d like to upload, upload the .obj file to Poly and publish it. You will not be able to use the item in Tilt Brush unless it is published, though you may change the permissions and access settings.

Follow these steps to import an object of your own or one from someone else.

  • Log in to your Google account on the headset.
  • On the bottom section of the palette, you should see "Beginner Mode." Click this to change to "Advanced Mode."
  • You will now see an additional section on your palette. Within this section, choose the Poly symbol. You will see an option for your saved sketches and for your favorites. Choose one and select the object you want to import.
  • The object should now appear in your workspace. Choose the mouse pointer (Select) on the palette and use one controller to rotate the object to an upright direction.
  • Press the inner grab buttons on the controllers and move your hands in and out to resize the object.
  • Interact with the object.
  • Once you are finished, follow the instructions to Save and Export your work.

Log out of your Google account on the headset when you are finished.
