Introduction To This Guide

This guide contains information on various style guides that you use to complete their academic assignments. Select the tab for the style guide you are directed to use. It is prudent to ask your professor if she does not state a particular style guide preference. Some teachers allow you to select a style guide.

To get help for a particular question, consult a librarian at the Reference Desk, located on the Main Floor of the library. The Reference Desk contains copies of the various style guides.

  • Complete Discipline Listing
Which major/discipline uses which style guide? This guide, provided by Purdue University's Online Writing Lab, lists that information.

Citation Generators

These citation generators are free.

  • EndNote 101
UNCC has a site license to the bibliographic management service EndNote and EndNote Web. All students, faculty, and staff may use this service to generate bibliographies in a variety of style guides. EndNote 101 is your guide to using this service.

Need Help With Your Citations?

If you need help with a citation, ask the subject librarian for the course you are taking. To find that librarian, use our Subject Librarian directory:

  • Atkins Library Subject Librarians
Scroll down the page until you see the "Browse Librarians By Subject" drown-down menu. If you are taking a marketing course, select "Marketing," and you will find the librarian may help you with your marketing course citations.

Citation Workshop Calendar

Come to a Citation Workshop. Learn about the tools that are available to you to make citing your sources easier. See examples of how you can use a style guide, citation generator, the library catalog, library databases, and Microsoft Word (MLA, APA, Chicago/Turabian). Or learn how to use EndNote, the University's citation management software.
